We’re excited about VolleyWatch tomorrow in Manhattan Beach, 13th street.
Tournament starts 9 AM. We’ll go over format in person around 8:45 am. If you show up late, just jump on in.
Here’s a quick summary of how the seeding works using a modified Kings/Queens setup.
The first seeding phase is 40 minutes and is coed.
There are 8 courts.
There are queues in between the courts.
4 men lines and 4 women lines.
The men lines have 2 cones, women have 1 cone
When you get to the front of the line, the other person at the other cone directly across from you is your temporary partner
Find a court that does not have a team on deck (kings, challengers, on deck). Wait for the play to finish then become a challenger and serve.
If you become a king/queen, you get a point!
Now try to get as many points while king/queen.
Once you finish, go to a scorepad, click the first letter of your name, find your name and give yourself the points you just earned.
Then get back in any line and repeat with a new partner.
If you miss a serve, just try again! If you miss twice in a row, then go back to end of the line. Your partner stays and gets a new partner.
No points for missed serves.
The first round is about 40 minutes. Then we’ll do it again with just women and then with just men for 20 minutes.
After that we enter playoffs!
