Magic Solo - Reverse Format Prepare for a magical evening of grass volleyball! Join us for a casual, fun, and competitive "Reverse Queen of the Court" tournament where individuals will battle for points, then partner up for an exciting playoff bracket. Date: Friday, July 11, 2025 Time: Arrive by 5:00 PM for check-in and rules explanation. Play starts promptly at 5:15 PM. Location: San Carlo Park Price: Free entry How "The Slytherin Solo" Works: This tournament is designed for individual players to showcase their skills and enjoy some friendly competition with randomly assigned partners. Women hit front row, men attack back row. 1) Individual Point Accumulation (Queen of the Court - Reverse Coed Style): • Players will queue up to play in "Queen of the Court" style games. Men in one line, women in another line. • You can only score a point when you are on the "queen side" of the court, and your team wins the rally. • To begin, you can either join the general queue or, if you're feeling lucky, "roll" to try and start on the queen side of the court. • There will be two rounds of initial point accumulation (15 minutes each), so you'll have ample opportunity to rack up points! • Rule: When you queue in line again, you cannot play with the same person you just partnered with in the previous game. 2) Partner Pairing: • After the individual point accumulation phase, players will be ranked based on their total points to determine partnerships for playoffs. • Partners will be formed by pairing the 1st place player with the 2nd place player, 3rd with 4th, and so on. This ensures balanced and exciting matchups! 3) Playoff Bracket: • Once pairs are set, a single-elimination playoff bracket will begin. • Each playoff game will be one set, capped at 21 points. • Teams will switch sides of the court every 7 points. • The winning team advances to the next round until a champion is crowned! Technical Rules: • Doubles are called like indoor. • You cannot overhand set on the first contact unless its a hard drive attack. • You cannot overhand set a ball over the plane of the net to the opponent's side. • If you hand set the ball and it goes over, it's automatically the other team's point, regardless of intention or wind. • If a male is attacking in front of the 10 ft line, the attack must travel upward 3 ball lengths before going down. Cash Prize!! • 1st Place Team: $25 per player • 2nd Place Team: $10 per player What to Bring: • Your A-game! • Water bottle to stay hydrated. • Comfortable athletic wear. • Sunblock and Good Vibes 🥰 Important Notes: • This is a casual, fun tournament, but competitive spirits are encouraged! • All skill levels are welcome. • Please arrive on time to ensure smooth registration and to maximize playing time.
